GranTurismo Nurburgring 2016

TrackandTuner.com visited GranTurismoevents at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. We are regular press photographers for this great two day event at the Nordschleife. As you can see from our previous reports here, GranTurismoevents attracts a lot of great cars. This year weather forecast where bad and I mean really bad, with predictions of storm and lightning. However as unpredictable the Nordschleife weather is we just had some light shower during the second day of the event. Meaning a lot of dry time for pushing your car to the max.

We started by jumping in with a gorgeous lava red NEW Porsche 991 GT3RS. This was our first experience and we were rocked. This car has so much potential and the sound inside the cabin is awesome. It is a real track day car where you could go lap by lap without any problems, check out the video down from www.youtube.com/Tomedelic1.

Every year there are many Porsche around but this year maybe just maybe BMW had the top position. With Team Schirmer rocking the fastest cars on track with their fully Nordschleife prepped BMW M3 e92 track cars. Great cars and thankfully we had the chance to jump in for a quick lap around the Nordschleife. These cars can do the Nordschleife in an " easy" 7.20 min BTG. If being pushed on slick tires and in the hands of a very skilled mad men these BMW M3's can do a sub 7 min BTG as you can see here.

We also saw our first track prepped BMW M4, fully stripped out GT4 style. Looked great but unfortunately we didn't see him doing many laps. Still king of the show as the oldskool BMW M3 e30. Great to such an incon still rocking the Nordschleife.

As we told you earlier, weather predictions where bad but thanks to the unpredictable Nordschleife weather we had some great dry conditions. This was a problem for some as they din't have the sticky tires on the cars. However GranTurismoEvents provides a tire changing service, meaning this Lamborghini Huracan could change to some sticky Michelin Pilot Sport cup 2 tires for some quick laps around the Nordschleife. We went onboard of the Huracan for some flying laps and managed to do around 7:20 BTG, which is a job well done by the fast owner.
