The BMW 3.0CSL at the 39th AvD Oldtimer GP

TrackandTuner.com takes a look back at the 39th AvD Oldtimer GP with our earlier specials of the BMW M1 Procar and the Maserati MC12.

In this special we take a look at the famous BMW 3.0CSL which is a homologation special to participate in the European Touring Car Championship.

The BMW 3.0CSL was a lightweight version with most parts made out of aluminum and with the later optional aero package it earned the nickname the batmobile.

With the wide flared wheel arches the race version is extremely wide and weighing only 1160kg, combined with the 326hp the 1973 race car is still very fast in these modern times.

The induction noise of the engine racing down the main straight of the Nurburgring is intoxication.

So watch the video and enjoy the images, and stay tuned for more legendary classic race cars.
