TrackandTuner.com visited the Classic GP on the Nurburgring Nordschleife. You might know, we are big Classic car fans, visiting the AvD Oldtimer GP every year. This was the first time visiting the Nurburgring Classic and quality of cars was great.
The Classic GP was like a mini AvD Oldtimer GP, with a bigger focus on tourenwagens. It was great to see the golden era of tourenwagens, with lots of BMW M3 e30 DTM cars, Ford Capri’s, the Porsche Kremer K3 and so much more great cars.
Over the years we have met some great friends racing in the Classic Car Series. It was very nice to see that the the team of Heup Motorsport has been expanding. They are now racing with a BMW M1 Procar and an original Opel Astra V8 DTM car.
The Opel has a 5.0L V8 with 500HP and only weights like 1000kg. Together with its sequential gearbox, this car is a weapon on track. But, it is almost impossible to race against the Mucke Motorsport Ford Zakspeed Capri. That car is just glued to the track and so much faster. A clear favorite with the audience and for winning the race.
