WeDrive: BMW M3 e30 DTM vs BMW M4 DTM

TrackandTuner.com had the opportunity to drive the #1 of 200 BMW M4 DTM cars.

This is a very special car in perfect condition, which is now for sale at www.trackandtuner.com.

We drove this car and put it head-to-head to its legendary older brother the BMW M3 e30 DTM.

Both are inspired by the DTM class, celebrating the world-championship win.

We know you can't compare a 2017 car with a 1986 car, but both sport the BMW DTM livery and both are created due to the success in the DTM championship.

When it comes to driving performance, the BMW M4 DTM produces 500HP. Significantly more than the standard BMW M4.

The 0 to 100 km/h sprint now takes just 3.8 seconds, and its electronically limited top speed is 305 km/h.

This remarkable performance is made possible not least by the six-cylinder in-line engine’s innovative water injection system, already familiar from the BMW M4 GTS model. The cooling action this produces in the combustion chamber makes for a significant expansion of the engine’s thermally induced performance limits, showing a 16% performance improvement over the standard series engine.

We have a lot of experience driving the standard BMW M3, which we then tuned to 562HP.

We must say this BMW M4 DTM feels just as fast. The performance is mega and the new Recaro seat are keeping you right in the action. Also the suspension is "race car" like. It is very hard and ready for the track.

You really notice the more aggressive set up, both engine and handling are much harder and awake.

We really love the car and we did get a lot of thumbs up, because the unique BMW M livery really attracts some attention.

All in all we love all the new updates, like the Recaro carbon seats, the EUR 8K OLED lights, the roll cage, the Mperformance exhaust and all the other little things really transform the car.

Some more information about the BMW M4 DTM.

Two years after his first title win, BMW M4 pilot Marco Wittmann (GER) once again secured the driver’s title in the DTM at the 2016 season finale at the Hockenheimring.

To honor this achievement, BMW M rolled out the BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition (combined fuel consumption: 8.5 l/100 km, CO2 emissions combined: 199 g/km).*

Compared to the the standard M4 series model, this limited edition car, with only 200 examples worldwide, boasts an increase in engine performance by 51 kW/69hp to 368 kW/500hp and a 50 Nm rise in maximum torque to 600 Nm.

You can really feel the difference in power compared to the standard version. It has all the GTS special touches, combined with the legendary BMW ///M colors, this is a gorgeous car.

Now for sale for EUR 139.000. We offer the car with the possibility without VAT.
